Seasons Change

A midcentury oil on canvas painting by Swedish artist Walter Holmstrom (1912 - 2014).

An autumn landscape in expressive, earthy strokes. A dark fence posts cut across a muted foreground, leading toward a band of ochre and rust scrub. A pale stretch of water sits beneath a dense evergreen treeline, touched with flashes of autumn colour.

The brushstrokes are thick and direct, giving the landscape a textured, slightly abstract quality. The composition is straightforward and balanced, built from broad colour areas and minimal detail, typical of practical mid-century landscape painting.

Dimensions 48x65cm framed. 

Vintage Condition

Please note all the items on The Warner Store are antique or vintage and will be in normal used condition for their age, and so wear and tear consistent with age and use can be expected. If there are more specific defects or major damage, this will be mentioned as remarks in the item description and will have accompanying photographs.
