About the artist: Edvin Ollers (1888–1959) was a Swedish painter known for his expressive landscapes and village scenes. Working through the first half of the twentieth century, he developed a loose, confident style influenced by post-impressionist painting. His work often captures rural settings and coastal villages, using lively brushwork and strong colour to convey light and atmosphere.

Ollers studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm and exhibited regularly in Sweden during his lifetime. Today his paintings are held in several Scandinavian museum collections and continue to be appreciated for their energy and character.
