A beautifully atmospheric composition capturing a grove of cork oaks in broad, confident brushstrokes, with areas of rich burgundy set against soft greens, blue-greys and pale sage tones. The result feels both expressive and quietly contemplative, balancing abstraction with a strong sense of landscape.

There is a freshness to the palette that sits particularly well in contemporary interiors, while the studio frame complements the painting’s understated character. 

Oil on canvas painted by artist Torsten Bergmark (Sweden, 1920-1996) signed lower left and dated 1960.
