A decorative French floral still life, painted with a rich arrangement of flowers gathered in a woven basket.

The palette is deep and warm, with soft pinks, russet reds, golden yellows and touches of cream set against a dark green ground. The composition has an old-world charm, with the flowers emerging gently from the background.

Presented in a beautifully timeworn gilt frame, it has a lovely traditional character and would bring warmth to a hallway, bedroom or sitting room.

Oil on canvas, signed by artist Augustus Kind (France, 1863 - ?) and dated 1944.

Dimensions 61cm x 58cm framed.
