In the Darkest Corner there is Light

I suffer from seasonal affective disorder and this painting evokes a sense of healing in the way it traps the light.

A striking abstract from the late-20th-century tradition: metallic gold worked into a subtle, irregular grid, with teal and umber drawn back through the surface. The paint has been handled rather than simply applied — the result is a warm, reflective field interrupted by soft verticals and horizontals, suggesting weathered metal or woven fibre.

The perimeter darkens into green-black and burgundy, creating a natural frame and pushing the gold forward. It hangs beautifully on a pale wall, catching light throughout the day and shifting tone as you move.

A confident, textural piece — geometric at a glance, atmospheric on closer inspection. Ideal for a clean modern interior or a space that needs one luminous accent.
