The Green Valley | Spanish Expressionist Oil Painting

An expressive landscape painting by Spanish artist Antoni Llobet Aracil (1919–1983), capturing a winding path through a lush, wooded hillside.

Painted with wonderfully loose, energetic brushstrokes, the composition combines deep forest greens, soft turquoise blues, warm ochres and touches of dusty pink. A narrow path leads through the foreground towards distant, hazy hills, where slender trees punctuate the skyline.

There is a lovely sense of movement and spontaneity in the artist's handling of paint. Rather than focusing on precise detail, Llobet Aracil builds the landscape through lively marks and overlapping passages of colour, giving the scene a distinctly expressive character.

Presented in an ornate gilt frame with a beautifully decorative, sculptural pattern, which adds warmth and presence to the painting.

A characterful original landscape that would bring colour, texture and a touch of Mediterranean charm to a thoughtfully collected interior.
