The Pink Fields

A beautifully atmospheric Swedish landscape by Frans Timén (1883–1968), painted in 1943 and titled Skagersholm.

Soft shades of salmon pink, warm peach and muted green stretch across open fields beneath an expansive, cloud-filled sky. A simple fence runs through the foreground, drawing the eye towards the distant tree line and the gently rolling countryside beyond.

Timén's expressive, finely worked brushstrokes give the landscape a wonderful sense of movement and changing light. The delicate colour palette lends the scene an almost dreamlike quality, while the broad horizon and layered clouds create a feeling of openness and tranquillity.

Signed and dated 1943, the painting is presented in a traditional gilt wooden frame, which beautifully complements its warm tones.

A charming original Swedish landscape, full of subtle colour and quiet atmosphere.
