An atmospheric landscape painted in 1949, depicting a pale country path winding through green fields towards a wooded hillside.

Broad, expressive brushstrokes and a beautifully restrained palette of moss green, deep forest green, soft ochre and dusty pink lend the scene a quiet, almost dreamlike quality. The simplicity of the composition draws the eye along the path and into the landscape beyond.

The painting is housed in an ornate vintage frame with intricate decorative detailing, providing a lovely contrast to the loose, modern handling of the landscape.

Oil on canvas by unidentified artist (Swedish origin), signed lower left and dated 1949.

Dimensions 66x72cm framed.
